Foundations Devotional: Week 2, Day 3
Day 3 – Worship
Scripture Reading: John 4:23-24
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
Reflection: To worship God in spirit and in truth is to worship God with passion and zeal, while also basing our worship on the Truth of God’s Word. Worship is not confined to Sunday services but is a lifestyle of reverence and gratitude to God. Our worship is our response to who God is and what He has done for us. More than singing during a service on Sunday morning, true worship, the worship that God desires is a lifestyle of honoring Him. We do this by walking in obedience to His Word. You can worship God while attending Church, you can worship Him at work, with your family, in your personal life. Being a true worshiper of God is not merely based on what we do, but is displayed in who we are. What are some ways in which you cultivate a heart of worship in your daily life?
Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me to worship You in spirit and truth. Help me to acknowledge Your presence throughout my day and to express my gratitude for Your goodness.
