Dwell – Day 25
JOY
I have sought joy as the world teaches us -through relationships, careers, and extracurricular activities. Unfortunately life happens and too often those worldly joys are fleeting. People change, jobs become disappointing and exhaustive, and life overwhelms us. Satan is a thief of joy. He corrupts our minds leaving us with NO joy. But never forget we can KNOW joy because we know Jesus.
1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you don’t see see him now, you believe in him, and now are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Guided Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
In moments of sadness and despair, we yearn for your joy to fill our hearts. We pray for the laughter that heals, the happiness that transcends circumstances, and the abiding joy that comes from knowing you. May our lives be marked by moments of delight and gratitude, even in the face of adversity.
We thank you, dear God, for the gift of joy, a precious reminder of your presence in our lives. May we be bearers of joy, sharing it generously with others, brightening their days as you have brightened ours. Amen.
Because of Jesus, I am JOYFUL!
